Rosie Wrighting, the Labour MP for Kettering, has announced she has resigned from her role as private secretary (PPS) in the Department of Health.
It came after Wes Streeting stood down as health secretary on Thursday, saying he had lost confidence in Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's leadership.
The Northamptonshire politician said it had been a "pleasure" to work with Streeting, who "never shies away from the right principled decision, even in difficult times".
"We must show that we can be better than this, that politics can change things for the good and offer people hope," she added.

On X, she said Streeting "is a generational talent and it is with his leadership that we've seen the NHS on the road to recovery".
She added: "We need a vision, an open debate of ideas about how we move forward from this moment, with the best field of candidates that our movement has."
On 11 September, she said she was "delighted" to have been given the job.
"With Labour, we're already making progress on getting the NHS back on its feet, delivering more appointments and cutting waiting lists," she wrote last year.
"I'm so pleased to be able to play a role in supporting the fantastic ministerial team."
