Wales prop Sisilia Tuipulotu will miss the rest of the Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) season and is a major doubt for the Women's Six Nations after having surgery on a hamstring.
The 21-year-old tight-head posted a picture of her in hospital on social media, saying her season "has come to an early end".
"I'll be back better than before, for my family, friends and most importantly my team-mates," she said.
Tuipulotu's thigh was heavily strapped during her last outing, a 70-minute performance in Gloucester-Hartpury's 33-31 win over Trailfinders on 18 January.
The reigning PWR champions have since secured their place in the play-offs, where they will be looking to win three titles in a row.
Tuipulotu's injury is a double blow for Gloucester-Hartpury boss Sean Lynn, who will take over the Wales head coach role ahead of the Six Nations.
Wales kick-off their campaign against Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday, 22 March.
