Raymond van Barneveld booked his place in the last 16 of the International Open with a 6-2 victory against Jonny Clayton.

Van Barneveld made a confident start to their second-round match at Sachsen Arena in Riesa, Germany, to take a 3-0 advantage over Wales' Clayton - and never looked back.

The 57-year-old Dutchman, ranked 35th in the PDC order of merit, averaged 97.2 while a below-par Clayton managed just 81.4.

Van Barneveld's compatriot Wessel Nijman also pulled off a minor upset when he knocked out Chris Dobey 6-3.

Elsewhere, world number one Luke Humphries reeled off six consecutive legs as he cruised into the third round with a 6-1 win over Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Englishman Stephen Bunting found it slightly tougher during a gritty 6-4 win over Darius Labanauskas of Lithuania.

Welshman Gerwyn Price clinched a 6-4 victory against Mike de Decker, Cameron Menzies edged out James Wade 6-5, and Peter Wright won by the same margin against Ritchie Edhouse.

Rob Cross has pulled out of the tournament because of illness so Germany's Martin Schindler was given a bye to the next round.

The third round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played on Sunday.
