Alvechurch made the third round of the FA Cup in the 1973-74 seasonDanny Waldron's double saw seventh-tier Alvechurch shock League One side Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup.
The Southern Premier Division Central strugglers were the lowest-ranked side left on the competition and 96 places below their opponents, who almost went ahead twice in the opening 10 minutes through James Olayinka.
But it was the non-league side from Worcestershire that took the lead soon after when Waldron pounced on a mistake by Caleb Taylor and beat Luke Southwood.
Waldron and Tom Edge had good chances in quick succession for the visitors shortly after the half-hour mark before Olayinka forced a good save from Dan Jezeph three minutes from half-time.
It almost got better for Alvechurch when Taylor nearly got a second after a miscued backpass in first-half stoppage time, but the minnows made no mistake five minutes after the break as Waldron tapped in after Tyrell Hamilton's shot had hit the post.
Five minutes later Ryan Jackson pulled one back for the League One side as Ryan Jackson shot on the half-volley from the back post.
The pressure continued to mount on the non-league side as Olayinka and Ryan Broom fired volleys over the bar while substitute Christian Norton had an effort scooped out by Jezeph which he felt had gone over the line with 18 minutes to go.
Cheltenham went down to 10 men after Jackson was forced off 10 minutes from full-time with an injury having used all their substitutes.
Edge almost made it 3-1 in stoppage time but Southwood did well to keep his effort out and Cheltenham's bad day was capped off when Dan N'Lundulu limped off as they ended the game with nine men.
It was the second surprising cup exit for Wade Elliott's side this season having been beaten 7-0 at home by Exeter City in the Carabao Cup in August.
