Brian Cox's acting career has spanned more than 60 years, garnering numerous awards, working with some of the most esteemed theatre companies and renowned Hollywood and TV directors.
After making his West End stage debut in 1967, he has become a notable star of stage and screen, even working on a few video games along the way.
From 20 February, Cox stars as German composer and musician, Johann Sebastian Bach, in The Score at London's Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Ahead of his return to the stage, he told BBC Radio London's Shay Kaur Grewal why he thinks the London theatre scene has never been better.
