Late drama as Glens and Larne held to league draws

Ballymena United and Glenavon both salvaged late 1-1 draws in their respective matches against Glentoran and Larne on a night of last-gasp drama in the Irish Premiership on Tuesday.

Substitute Joe Moore equalised for the Sky Blues deep into stoppage time after Christie Pattison had given the Glens the lead earlier in the second half at the Showgrounds.

The second-placed Glens extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 16 matches while the Braidmen are without a win in nine outings despite securing that late point.

Tiarnan O'Connor's early strike looked to have been enough to give Larne victory over Glenavon at Inver Park, before David Toure popped up to level one minute into additional time.

Larne's draw saw them end a disappointing run of three league defeats in which they failed to score a goal but the champions will have been frustrated to concede so late in the game

For Glenavon, their draw follows a sequence of five straight top flight wins.
