England midfielder Angel Gomes has announced he will leave French club Lille on a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.

The 24-year-old, who won his first four senior caps under interim manager Lee Carsley last year, announced the decision on Instagram.

"After four unforgettable years at LOSC Lille, it's time for me to say goodbye," he said.

"This club has been more than just a team - it's been a family, a home, and a place that has shaped me both on and off the pitch.

"Like any journey, there were ups and downs, highs and lows, but I'm truly grateful to my team-mates and the fans for sticking with me throughout."

A product of Manchester United's academy, Gomes scored 10 goals and provided 19 assists in 134 Lille appearances across all competitions.

He joined the club from United in 2020, spending his first season on loan at Portuguese club Boavista before establishing himself in the French league.

Reports, external have linked him with a move back to Old Trafford, with Tottenham and West Ham also said to be interested.
