Singer and actress Marianne Faithfull has died at the age of 78, her spokesperson said.
She made her debut in the swinging 60s with the Mick Jagger/Keith Richards composition As Tears Go By, before later writing and recording her own songs, including for her smoky-voiced 1979 comeback album Broken English.
In 2018, Faithfull sat down for an interview with BBC Newsnight to discuss family, friends and her career.
